Service Description: Family Tree is a nonprofit child abuse prevention program providing a therapeutic classroom experience for children 0-6 years of age, family home visits with one-on-one assistance, and parent education groups. We currently offer infant and toddler programs Monday through Thursday mornings, and a mixed-age respite group on Friday mornings. The classroom teachers also visit the participating families once a month in their homes to assist in problem-solving, goal-setting, and accessing community resources. Family Tree RN is an official replication of the very successful Eugene Relief Nursery and uses a very specific approach to communication with families and children that is respectful, empowering, and therapeutic. Volunteer Description: In-Class positions include: Classroom Assistant working directly with the children under the guidance and supervision of the teacher/interventionists
Positions to be filled:
Classroom assistants (1-2 per classroom)
Bus riders needed to assist the driver in maintaining safety and helping the children, can be part of the classroom assignment OR a separate commitment, available 5 days, a.m. (8:45-9:30) or p.m. (12:30-1:30) shifts.
